RSA was retained to provide services for this 18-hole golf resort in Napa, CA. This project, as all projects, came with its own unique set of challenges.
The project required road improvements along the County maintained Road, South Kelly Road. The owner did not want to run the SD line within the County ROW because of an existing 18" gas line whose location in the street was not entirely known. We designed and obtained approval for a catch basin structure that did not require any trenching within the ROW. This redesign reduced any change orders or safety concerns related to the installation of the SD line near the existing gas line. The owner was also experiencing a heavy siltation problem being carried downstream. RSA recommended installation of the detention basin immediately and run all graded areas to the basin. We did not install an outlet tying to the SD collection system because it was not in the budget. Rather, the water would fill up the basins and would overflow across 500 feet of the golf course turf before entering the SD collection system. Once installed, the owner did not experience any visible siltation to the downstream tie in point.
