Riechers Spence & Associates provided construction drawings for Sonoma Lodge, which also included the designs for offsite storm water piping and on site storm water detention.
The offsite storm drains through CalTrans right of way was a significant challenge. There was minimum slope resulting in large diameter pipes being woven along the right-of-way through other existing utilities and services. On site detention was provided to minimize impact to the inadequate downstream facilities. Portions of the parking lot were lowered to provide the required detention volumes.
